Addressing payments for fishermen

Compensation for fishermen affected by the oil spill has hit a snag. In a press conference today, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine explained that only $4.3 million out of $47.3 million in claims appear to be validated. Meanwhile, they are in the process of issuing a portion of the payments owed to fishermen who assisted with the oil spill response efforts.
