Scarborough, Tobago – February 26, 2024 – Growing crime concerns in Tobago have prompted the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) to launch an initiative aimed at forming a dedicated Public Safety Department. This strategic move by the THA seeks to address existing gaps in national security and enhance the island’s crime-fighting capabilities.
Anselm Richards, technical advisor in the Division of Finance, Trade, and the Economy, elaborated on this important development with reporter Kandace Jackson. The proposed department signifies a proactive step by the THA to bolster public safety in Tobago and create a more secure environment for residents and visitors alike.
