June 5, 2025 – In a move to enhance law enforcement capabilities and strengthen public safety, Acting Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin has officially launched a fleet of 67 brand-new police vehicles, valued at a total of $23 million. According to the Commissioner, the newly commissioned Toyota RAV4s were carefully selected with direct input from officers on the ground, ensuring that they are practical and perform to suit operational needs. The vehicles have been strategically deployed across all 10 policing divisions as well as key specialised units throughout Trinidad and Tobago. This major investment is expected to deliver faster response times, increased police visibility, and improved community engagement, reinforcing the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service’s (TTPS) commitment to keeping communities safe and secure. Benjamin said some of the vehicles would be assigned to the Emergency Response Patrol Unit to help reduce response times to crimes. Commissioner Benjamin emphasised that this initiative reflects the organisation’s Community First approach and its ongoing efforts to stay ahead in the national fight against crime.
