Charlotteville, Tobago – June 22, 2024 – Twenty-seven individuals recently graduated from an intensive cocoa field management training program at Charlotteville Estate. This significant milestone sets the stage for the ambitious Cocoa Revitalization Project and the Cocoa Yard Community Enterprise, initiatives poised to transform Charlotteville into a vibrant cocoa hub.
The Cocoa Revitalization Project, a strategic partnership with TT Fine Cocoa Company (Trinitario) and funded by the European Union, focuses on capacity building and producing premium fine cocoa beans. Simultaneously, the Cocoa Yard Community Enterprise aims to create an immersive bean-to-bar ecotourism experience, featuring restored cocoa houses, engaging tours, a dedicated museum, and vibrant cultural festivals. This integrated approach highlights a commitment to enhancing Tobago’s cocoa industry and sustainable tourism.
