Opposition questions why the Government is yet to reveal information regarding ownership of Vessel responsible for Oil Spill
Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Opposition MP Roodal Moonilal is demanding answers from the government regarding the delay in providing information on the ownership of the vessels responsible for the recent oil spill in Tobago.
His call for transparency follows a report published on Sunday by the T&T Guardian, in partnership with investigative journalists from Bellingcat. This report alleged a connection between the vessels and Panamanian companies with a track record of transporting sanctioned oil from Venezuela.
Moonilal’s inquiry underscores the public’s concern and the political pressure on the government to conclusively identify and hold accountable those responsible for the environmental disaster impacting Tobago’s coastline.
