May 27, 2025 – A late-night robbery at Corbin’s Local Wildlife Centre in Mason Hall has stunned the quiet Belmont Farm Road community. Around 11 p.m., two Irish volunteers were startled by an armed intruder and escaped through a window, with one sustaining minor injuries. A second masked assailant attacked a 78-year-old British artist, robbing him of cash and valuables. The victims were treated and have since returned to the project. Owner Roy Corbin says it’s the first incident of its kind, and measures are being taken to prevent a repeat. Police have increased patrols, and investigations are ongoing.
