March 25, 2025 – Tobago has recorded another murder. Dead is 32-year-old Vernando George of Studley Park. According to initial police reports, around 12:50 pm today, George, an employee of T&TEC Gencon Limited, was among four employees contracted to cut trees on behalf of T&TEC at the Black Rock Heritage Park. During their lunch break, two young men wearing masks and blue jumpers approached Vernando and opened fire. The assailants then escaped on foot into nearby bushes. Vernando was shot multiple times about the body. This marks Tobago’s third recorded murder for 2025. Investigations are ongoing.
