Two Tobago Fishermen Who Were Reported Missing Were Found Alive And Are Receiving Medical Care

The Two Tobago missing fishermen, Albert James and Junior Thorne, were found and brought back safely to shore after being lost at sea for four days. The men, who had set out from Pigeon Point on Tuesday, February 11th, for a fishing trip, failed to return, raising concern among their families. Relatives raised an alarm when the men did not return as expected. In response, the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), the Coast Guard, and local fishermen launched a search operation. The search efforts culminated in the discovery of the missing men. They were brought back to shore, and were taken for medical care. The President of the All Tobago Fisherfolk Association, Curtis Douglas spoke to Tobago Updates, where he shared that the families of the missing fishermen were happy that they were found. He is advising fishermen to be cautious when venturing out to sea. Douglas also stated that AFTA is currently on a project to ensure that all fisherfolk have tracking devices on their vessels. Relieved family members and the community expressed gratitude for the safe return of the fishermen, describing it as a true miracle.
