TTSPCA Tobago’s Christmas Plea

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Trinidad and Tobago Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (TTSPCA) in Tobago has launched its annual Christmas donation drive. This crucial initiative is spearheaded by Shelter Administrator, Lorna Nero.

Nero emphasized the shelter’s status as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), clarifying the continuous need for financial support. She stressed the vital importance of ongoing donations for the overall well-being of the animals under the shelter’s care. As a measure to prevent the abandonment of animals, Nero highlighted the shelter’s strict policy to spay/neuter all animals before they leave for new homes, promoting responsible pet ownership.

Encouraging thoughtful decisions, Nero cautioned the public against impulsively placing a pet among the presents under the Christmas tree. She also issued a specific warning to future pet owners who adopt from the TTSPCA shelter, urging careful consideration.

Expressing concern over unauthorized animal drop-offs, Nero issued a warning against entering the shelter compound without the knowledge of staff. With the TTSPCA Tobago shelter currently at full capacity, Nero urgently appealed to individuals to foster or adopt animals. She highlighted a grave concern: without public support, additional animals may unfortunately face the possibility of euthanasia. The TTSPCA seeks community assistance to provide care and find homes for animals in need across Tobago.
