TTPS conduct anti-crime operations in Tobago

TTPS conducted anti-crime operations in three districts in Tobago.

Scarborough, Tobago – In an ongoing effort to curb crime, including gun violence and the possession of illegal firearms and drugs, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) conducted a multi-district Anti-Crime operation in Tobago and Trinidad last Friday.

Officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force and the Guard and Emergency Branch embarked on an exercise in the Crown Point, Shirvan, and Scarborough districts from 10 am to 5 pm. During this operation, they discovered and seized 297 grams of cannabis that were concealed in a bag and hidden in bushes along Robert Street in Bon Accord. Additionally, during a roadblock exercise along the Claude Noel Highway, officers issued ten fixed penalty notices for various traffic offenses.

On the same day in Charford Court Plannings in Trinidad, between 2 pm and 4 pm, officers discovered and seized a P80 Glock firearm with a magazine containing 16 rounds of ammunition. The exercises were spearheaded by ACP Hazel, with a team of senior officers including Senior Superintendent Spence, Superintendent Ramesar, ASP Simon, Inspector Ali, ACP Subero, Senior Superintendent Elie, Senior Superintendent Montrichard and Superintendent Frank. The TTPS remains committed to detecting criminal activities and apprehending perpetrators of crime throughout the nation.
