TTBWA Calls on Candidates to Support Blind and Disabled Citizens.
Scarborough, Tobago – With the General Election just two weeks away, the Trinidad and Tobago Blind Welfare Association (TTBWA) is calling on all candidates to support the rights of blind and disabled people.
The group says many citizens still face challenges with voting, finding jobs, and accessing public spaces. The TTBWA is specifically requesting:
Easier voting for people with disabilities.
More funding for support services.
Fair job opportunities.
Better access to buildings and transportation.
More disabled voices in government decisions.
The group is urging candidates to state where they stand on disability rights before votes are cast on Monday, 28th April, 2025.
