Trinidad and Tobago upgrades to tier 2 in US human trafficking in persons report.
Trinidad and Tobago has been upgraded to Tier 2, in the US Department of State’s 2024 Trafficking in Persons Report. This is a significant improvement from the Tier 2 Watch List ranking in 2023.The report acknowledges the government’s increased efforts to combat human trafficking, including more investigations and prosecutions. It also highlights the first-ever conviction of a human trafficker in the country.
