Turtle Beach, Tobago – A habitat for turtles was deemed a “cremation sight” by Terrence Pitt, who was called to Turtle Beach yesterday in response to a complaint about the destruction of five turtle nests.
The turtle species, which are endangered, are a critical part of Tobago’s marine biodiversity. The destruction of their nests poses a significant threat to their population and highlights an urgent need for greater protection of these sensitive habitats.
