Tobago Tourism Agency Advances Green Key Certification to Attract Eco-Conscious Travelers

September 3 2025- The Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL) is intensifying efforts to promote sustainable tourism by supporting the internationally recognized Green Key certification program. This ecolabel is awarded to tourism establishments committed to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.

The initiative seeks to position Tobago as a leading eco-friendly destination, catering to the increasing number of travelers who prioritize sustainability. As of 2024, nine Tobago properties have already earned the Green Key certification, setting the island apart from other Caribbean destinations.

TTAL’s backing helps reduce the financial barriers for local hotels and tourism providers, allowing them to join a global network of over 7,900 certified establishments across more than 90 countries. This effort supports Tobago’s brand as “unspoilt, untouched, undiscovered,” safeguarding its natural beauty for future generations.
