Tobago Primary School Students Win Big in National Renewable Energy Competition
Parlatuvier, Tobago – July 07, 2025 – Three Standard 4 students from Parlatuvier Anglican Primary School have made Tobago proud by capturing first place in a national Renewable Energy Competition. Their innovative wind turbine project demonstrated exceptional creativity and technical skill.
Led by young innovator Merci Mitchell and guided by their dedicated teacher, Candace Ragcom, the team designed and built a functional wind turbine model. The project impressed judges with its efficiency and strong environmental relevance.
Merci Mitchell, Amaiya Munroe, and Felicity Hoston wowed the panel not only with their technical abilities but also with their remarkable teamwork, extensive knowledge of clean energy, and clear passion for protecting the environment. Their project specifically focused on harnessing wind power as a viable, eco-friendly solution, especially for rural and coastal communities like theirs in Tobago, highlighting local innovation in renewable energy.
