The Tobago People’s Party (TPP) is in the planning stages of its internal elections, according to the party’s interim political leader, THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine

Speaking with Tobago Updates, Augustine made the statement in providing an update on the party. He said the next step for the party would be the party’s internal elections.

“A date will be set and announced publicly. There will also be a series of cottage meetings and intimate public engagements in the lead-up to the party’s internal elections.”

He could not provide any timelines.

Meantime, he said he along with other members met for over three hours with supporters at the Shaw Park Complex last Saturday (January 20th).

“The party, with the help of lawyers, went through the entire constitution article by article and then onto a ratification by way of a vote among those present.”

Addressing misconceptions, Augustine confirmed that the TPP is officially registered with the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC), noting that the party had been registered for quite some time and had received acknowledgment from the EBC.
