Jay Quashie arrested for friends field

A Tobago man is remanded in custody after being charged by the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Tobago on Tuesday. Jay Quashie, a 23-year-old labourer from Mary’s Hill, has been charged with murder and multiple counts of wounding in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on August 21, 2024. Quashie appeared virtually in the High Court of Justice’s Criminal Division before Master Magaret Sookraj-Goswami on September 25. His matter was adjourned to October 15th, 2025. On Monday, an audience was held with the  Director of Public Prosecutions (Ag.) Mrs. Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal who advised that JAY QUASHIE be charged with the offences.”According to police reports, officers were alerted to gunfire around 7:39 PM on the day of the incident on Friendfield Road. Upon arrival, they found three men suffering from gunshot wounds, and a fourth man, Kerlon Thomas, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene by the district medical officer. Investigations indicate that a group of men was gathered on the roadside when three armed individuals emerged from a white wagon and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Investigations are ongoing.
