As the country heads to the polls on Monday, April 28th, the TTPS affirms its commitment to maintaining safety, security, and order throughout the electoral process. Offences include tampering with ballot boxes, illegal voting, the use of loudspeakers or campaign materials near polling stations, and the sale of intoxicating liquor. Penalties for violations range from hefty fines to imprisonment, with corrupt practices carrying fines of up to $30,000 and a potential prison sentence of up to five years. The TTPS encourages the public to cooperate and uphold the integrity of the democratic process.
