The PM’s Message for Indian Arrival Day

The Prime Minister says the nation must celebrate the strength shown by the East Indian community ahead of Indian Arrival Day.

The East Indian community will be celebrating 170 years since their ancestors arrived in Trinidad and Tobago on May 30th, 1845. In his message to the Nation, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley described their journey as a bold and daring risk, noting their fearlessness and courage. Recounting their history, Dr Rowley noted that they came to work as agricultural labourers originating from various villages in India.
