Scarborough, Tobago – The Innovative Democratic Alliance (IDA) has deemed Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley’s recent tour of Tobago with the Indian Investment Mission as disrespectful. Kaye Trotman, Public Relations Officer of the IDA, highlighted the absence of any Tobago House of Assembly (THA) member’s involvement during the visit.
Two weeks ago, Prime Minister Rowley, accompanied by Minister of Trade and Industry Paula Gopee-Scoon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts Randall Mitchell, and Minister of Sport and Community Development and MP for Tobago West Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis, led members of the Indian Investment Mission around Tobago. The delegation visited various project sites across the island. The IDA’s criticism underscores concerns about proper protocol and engagement with local governance during such high-level visits.
