THA To Supplement Bus Fleet

Chief Secretary Committed To Utilizing THA Buses To Assist With Tours For Cruise Ship Visitors

Black Rock, Tobago – The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) is preparing to directly address recent issues with cruise ship ground transportation. A significant short-term solution has been devised: the THA will use its own bus fleet to supplement tours whenever a large cruise ship docks in Tobago.

The cancellations of island bus tours last Saturday, which impacted numerous cruise passengers, were a key topic of discussion at Tuesday night’s THA Town Hall Meeting in Black Rock. The meeting brought together various stakeholders involved in the controversy to find a swift resolution.

This move by the THA aims to prevent future disruptions for cruise ship visitors and ensure a more reliable and positive tourism experience on the island. The focus is on leveraging existing public resources to immediately fill the gaps in ground transportation for Tobago’s cruise sector.

Kandace Jackson has more details on the outcome of the Town Hall Meeting and the specific short-term measures being implemented.
