July 31, 2025 – The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) rolled out the red carpet to honour its dedicated public servants on July 29, at the 2025 Legacy Awards. The gala event, held at the Shaw Park Complex, recognised the long-standing commitment of individuals who have dedicated 35 years or more to public service in Tobago.
The ceremony was the culmination of Public Service Week 2025, a week-long celebration highlighting the invaluable contributions of public officers to the island’s development. This inaugural event, according to Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, was a way of saying thank you to public officers who have served with quiet strength and purpose, acting as a lifeline and the glue that holds communities together. Awards were presented in two categories: public officers who have served 35 years and more, and past administrators. The event, which also included a forum held over June 26 and 27, underscored the THA’s commitment to recognizing excellence, innovation, and transparency in public service delivery for a sustainable future.
