THA Gets Low Rating In Annual Quality of Life Survey

March 24, 2025 – The Third Annual Survey of Tobago Performance has revealed a mix of pride and concern among residents. Conducted from January 8 to February 15, 2025, by Tobago CivilNET, the Tobago Council of Elders, and the Tobago Youth Council, the survey gathered feedback from 410 participants across all 15 districts, marking the highest participation to date.

While 34.9% of respondents rated their quality of life as good or excellent, 22.2% described it as poor or very poor. Job opportunities emerged as the top issue, with 71% expressing dissatisfaction. The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) also faced declining approval, with only 14.6% rating its performance positively—down from 26% in the previous survey. Youth respondents voiced strong frustration over job prospects and a lack of engagement in governance, emphasising the need for better opportunities and public participation in Tobago’s development.
