TADCO Provides Food Security
The poultry initiative, which commenced on September 9th, 2022, involved providing farmers with livestock and technical support, as stated by TADCO Chairman Ricardo Alfred. He also shared that it is positive news for the citizens of Tobago.
Alfred explained that as a result of TADCO’s initiatives, a local fast-food restaurant and the rest of the island were able to access meat during the meat scarcity period. He affirmed that the organisation will continue to supply meat to the island.
According to Alfred, TADCO aims to boost the island’s chicken supply to reduce its dependence on other industries for growth and development. At the end of the month, TADCO will issue a statement that outlines the quantity and quality of meat that was sold and what might still be available. Alfred also stated that TADCO’s sale of fish has enabled the company’s subsidiary, the Capital of Paradise, to operate for just one year and have capital.
