Department of labour engage sensitizes employers on the nuances of the new minimum wage.

Scarborough, Tobago – Although the new minimum wage has been in effect since January 1st, 2024, employers across Trinidad and Tobago still have outstanding questions about their obligations and the subsequent changes to National Insurance Board (NIB) payments.

As a result, a department recently hosted a session specifically to sensitize employers on the nuances of the new minimum wage and its effects. The initiative aims to provide clarity and ensure a smooth transition for businesses as they navigate the new labor regulations and their financial responsibilities.
