In the 2021 Tobago House of Assembly elections, the Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) secured 14 out of the 15 available seats. Since then, significant changes have taken place, including the separation of political leader Watson Solomon Duke from his former colleagues, who subsequently formed the Tobago People’s Party. Senator Laurence Hislop of the People’s National Movement (PNM) recently gave the THA a rating of 4 out of 10, citing the absence of a clear and effective plan to govern Tobago.
