Sea 2026 Examination Completed

March 27, 2026 — The 2026 Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) examinations were held yesterday across Trinidad and Tobago, with students, parents, and teachers sharing mixed reactions following the highly anticipated test. A total of 17,573 students were registered to sit the exam nationwide, marking the culmination of years of preparation, extra lessons, and practice tests.

In Tobago, 1,005 candidates (508 males and 497 females) sat the assessment at 41 examination centres. The process was described as smooth and well-coordinated, supported by a “lockdown” protocol and increased police patrols to ensure a quiet and secure environment for all students.

Relief and Resilience

As the final pencils were put down at 1:30 PM, scenes of jubilation and visible relief unfolded at school gates from Scarborough to Charlotteville. While many students described the English Language Arts and Creative Writing components as “fair” and “manageable,” some noted that the Mathematics section required deeper critical thinking and careful time management.

THA Secretary of Education, Research and Technology, Orlando Kerr, who had previously assured the public that “all systems were go,” expressed his satisfaction with the day’s proceedings. “I want to congratulate our students for their resilience,” Kerr stated. “You have done the work, and now it is time to rest and enjoy the transition to the next phase of your journey.”
