June 6, 2025 – The Scarborough Botanical Garden in Tobago is blossoming into an environmental educational hub. On June 3, Standard Four students from Hope Anglican Primary School, guided by Ms. Douglas and Ms. Fraser, explored the garden’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage, engaging in interactive sessions that sparked curiosity and thoughtful questions. Yesterday, on World Environment Day, geography students from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, conducted field assessments of the garden, emphasising the importance of firsthand interaction in environmental studies and highlighting the need for active participation in environmental conservation. The Scarborough Botanical Garden guided tours are run by the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme. They’re designed to inspire young minds and foster a deeper connection to the environment.
