In preparation for the festive season, the Roxborough Police Station proactively launched its Christmas Anti-Crime Plan on December 2nd [of the relevant year, likely 2023 or 2024]. Residents and the business community of Roxborough were strongly urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local police to enhance crime deterrence and detection throughout the holidays.
The essential safety tips were disseminated during the plan’s launch, where dedicated local police officers and detectives from the Special Victims Department actively engaged with various stakeholders. The team, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Carlton Lee Tang, along with Inspectors (Ag.) Kathlyn Sterling and Dexter Miller, and Sergeant Burt Guy, worked to sensitize the community.
They provided crucial information about prevailing crime trends and effective strategies residents could employ to make themselves “hard targets” for criminals. Officers also canvassed key areas, including Estate, Apple Trace, Robert Street, New Street, Boston Street, Beckles Trace, Prince Street, Union Street, and Windward Main Road, to ensure broad community reach.
A vital component of the outreach included informing residents about domestic violence prevention and response and crucial children’s safety measures. The Roxborough Police reinforced their commitment to the community, reminding residents that they are always available to help and support the neighbourhood through the season and into the new year.
