THA is preparing a request for supplemental funding as the mid-year budget review approaches

The cleanup expenses for the oil spill in Tobago are escalating. It’s been two weeks since the Gulfstream vessel capsized near the Cove estate, releasing a diesel-like substance into the water and contaminating a 15 km stretch of the coastline. This incident prompted a Tier 2 response involving international agencies. However, until the party responsible for this crisis is determined, the THA and central government are burdened with the costs.
