PNM Tobago Council leader Ancil Dennis is not impressed with the attempts at reconciliation. He criticised the PDP leader Watson Duke and Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, stating they’ve “lost their way.” Duke wrote to Augustine pleading for reconciliation and called for collaboration on Tobago’s development, emphasising unaddressed issues impacting Tobagonians.
Dennis dismissed this suggestion, asserting that both leaders caused chaos and confusion in the last 20 months, with rampant corruption within the THA and the selling out of Tobago’s resources to Trinidadian entities. Regardless of reconciliation attempts, Dennis argued that Tobagonians should not expect these leaders to effectively govern and fulfil their promises. This situation, he concluded, was not what the people of Tobago voted for.
