Combined Ballerz and Tobago Strikers faced off in wet conditions at the Courland Recreation Ground in the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Football League. Both teams found it tough on the soggy outfield, with chances few and far between. It was the Chicas in orange and black who managed to score the opening goal. Against the run of play, Sterle Timothy slipped behind the defense to poke in from an acute angle just before half-time. The game was sealed in the 85th minute when Neicha Hercules rose to meet a corner and buried it perfectly.
In another match, Black Panthers went on a goal-scoring spree against RSS Phoenix at the Roxborough Secondary School Compound. Jada Graham scored numerous goals, Shernaiah netted 4, Shadea completed a hat trick, Carissa scored twice, and Nkechia and Kionah each scored one, resulting in a dominant 15-0 victory.
The action will continue on Thursday with R.S.S. Phoenix facing Tobago Chicas at the Cyd Gray Complex, and Combined Ballerz clashing with Jewels Sports Club at Mt Pleasant. Both games will kick off at 5:30 pm.
