Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Security has been heightened at Piarco International Airport following a shooting incident earlier this morning. In a media release, the Airport Authority of Trinidad and Tobago confirmed that senior police officers met with airport officials shortly after the incident to discuss enhanced security measures.
Some of the new measures will take effect immediately, while others will roll out in the coming days. The Authority also revealed that additional support has been pledged by other national security agencies to help prevent similar events. Officials say they remain committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all airport users and stakeholders.
