Thursday and Friday are public holidays in Trinidad and Tobago
Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – The Office of the Prime Minister officially announced Friday, May 31st, 2024, as a public holiday in Trinidad and Tobago. This declaration was made in accordance with the provisions of Section 3 (2) of the Public Holidays and Festivals Act Chapter 19:05.
The decision stemmed from the unique occurrence of two significant national celebrations falling on the same day: Corpus Christi and Indian Arrival Day, both observed on Thursday, May 30th, 2024. As a result, both Thursday and Friday were observed as public holidays, providing an extended period for national observance and celebration.
