PSA President Felicia Thomas Says Workers Are Suffering Mentally and Financially Under the PNM

Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – President of the Public Service Association (PSA) Felicia Thomas says that public servants have suffered mentally and financially under the PNM government. During a UNC political meeting in St. Joseph, she explained why unions are part of the UNC’s “coalition of interests.”

Thomas claimed that for over a decade, public servants faced poor wage negotiations and that if the PNM remained in power, they would proceed with plans to lay off all WASA employees. She acknowledged that restructuring is not bad, but condemned the PNM-led government’s handling of the process. The PSA, along with the OWTU, TIWU, Postal Workers’ Union, and the SWWTU, all publicly endorsed the UNC.
