President Christine Kangaloo Appoints Nine Independent Senators To 13th Parliament
May 23, 2025 – President Christine Carla Kangaloo has appointed nine Independent Senators to serve in the 13th Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, which officially opened today with a ceremonial session at the Red House. The appointees include returning Senators Anthony Vieira, SC, and Deoroop Teemal, alongside newcomers Michael Simon de la Bastide, SC; Dr. Marlene Attzs; Dr. Desirée Murray; Courtney Mc Nish; Candice Jones-Simmons; Alicia Lalite-Ettienne; and Francis M. Lewis.
