Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – August 13, 2024 – The general election bell has not yet been rung, but the People’s National Movement (PNM) is already preparing to begin screening candidates. Nine constituencies in Trinidad have been given a deadline of Thursday, August 15th, 2024, to submit nominees.
Meanwhile, the Opposition suspects that election dates will be announced before the end of 2024. This early preparation by the PNM signals a serious focus on the upcoming polls and sets the stage for a period of heightened political activity across Trinidad and Tobago.
