August 26, 2025 – Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has extended warm wishes to the Hindu community in celebration of Ganesh Utsav 2025, recognizing the festival as a symbol of devotion, resilience, and national unity.
In her official message, the Prime Minister reflected on the significance of the occasion, which marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and god of wisdom. She noted that Ganesh Utsav, like Divali, Eid, Easter, and Christmas, has become an integral part of Trinidad and Tobago’s multicultural identity.
Persad-Bissessar highlighted the festival’s values of humility, courage, and togetherness, saying these teachings are especially important as the nation continues to navigate social and global challenges. She also praised the Hindu community for their environmentally conscious use of biodegradable murtis during the festivities.
The Prime Minister concluded by wishing all devotees a safe, joyful, and spiritually enriching Ganesh Utsav, filled with success, wisdom, and prosperity.
