A few moments after the start of the 37th Plenary Sitting in the Assembly Chamber, the Political Leader of the Progressive Democratic Patriots, Watson Duke, entered the chamber. His disagreements with the comments made during the debate were evident, and he was unable to contain his response. As a result, he interrupted the session to express his position, using language and conduct that were deemed unparliamentary. The presiding officer intervened, issuing a caution and requesting that Duke leave the chamber. Duke initially remained seated, refusing to leave the chamber despite the presence of two officers standing beside his seat. He called on Presiding Officer Abby Taylor to specify the standing order under which he was being asked to leave. Whilst packing his things, Duke described the chamber as “Mickey Mouse House”. The house was then suspended for 5 minutes.
