Unity of the People continues to accept nominations, not only for the Tobago East and West seats but for all forty-one constituencies in Trinidad and Tobago. The party previously contested only the Tobago West seat in the 2015 and 2020 general elections, with political leader Nickocy Phillips. However, Phillips says that this time, the party wants to give aspiring representatives a chance to run. Phillips stated that the UTP aims to close nominations and screen candidates within the next few weeks, after which the party will announce its chosen representatives. In the meantime, the party is working on its manifesto, which Phillips announced is nearly complete
