Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has stated that he will not extend an olive branch to Chief Secretary Farley Augustine. The two have been engaged in a public feud for the past few months, with exchanges of words and allegations in the public domain. Dr. Rowley made this declaration during a press conference today when he was asked about the possibility of repairing diplomatic relations with Augustine.
Dr. Rowley then explained that his initial intentions were always to support the work of the Assembly and assist a team of newly elected representatives who were new to governance. He had hoped that they would be able to collaborate on a development plan for Tobago.
The Prime Minister is now launching a legal battle against Augustine for the allegations made against him. He also mentioned that he continues to be affected by what was said in July’s Special Sitting of the Assembly Legislature.
Dr. Rowley noted that the allegations have worldwide implications, and he is not taking them lightly.
