Parliament goes on recess without making progress on self-governance bills.
Parliament has commenced its annual recess without addressing the Tobago Self-Governance Bills, despite multiple assurances from Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley that Tobago’s self-governance would be prioritized in the recently concluded fourth session of the twelfth Parliament. The Tobago Self-Government Bill 2020 was debated in Parliament in 2021 but stalled at the Committee stage due to objections from the Opposition.
