Band Leader Marcelyn Nedd Shares Her Opinion On The Cancellation Of The Junior Parade
Scarborough, Tobago – The Tobago Festivals Commission Limited announced on February 9, 2024, that the anticipated junior parade in Scarborough for Tobago Carnival 2024 would not take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024. This cancellation was a direct result of the recent oil spill impacting the island.
Marcellin Nedd, band leader of Marcellin Nedd and Associates, shared his thoughts on the decision. Nedd suggested that the Market Square in Scarborough could have been utilized as an alternative judging point, as opposed to the Scarborough Esplanade, which was directly affected by the spill. The cancellation impacted traditional Carnival celebrations in Scarborough, Tobago.
