August 27, 2025 – A new academic year is underway at the Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (THTI), as the institute hosted its annual Orientation Programme on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd August 2025. Welcoming both fresh and returning students, the two-day event unfolded under the inspiring theme “Where Ambition Meets Opportunity.”
Designed to ignite enthusiasm and set the tone for academic success, the Orientation featured a series of motivational and informative sessions. President of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association, Mr. Reginald Mac Lean, delivered a stirring keynote address, reminding students that “It’s Tobago Time” — and highlighting the vital role education plays in shaping a sustainable and thriving tourism sector.
Assemblyman Zorisha A. Hackett, Secretary for the Division of Education, Research, and Technology, also brought greetings, encouraging students to make the most of their journey ahead.
In addition to the speeches, students had the chance to engage with faculty, connect with peers, explore student services, and learn more about financial aid options. The event was not only informative, but a meaningful introduction to the supportive and opportunity-rich environment THTI offers.
With the semester ahead, the institute is confident its students are well-positioned to succeed — where ambition truly meets opportunity.
