Former Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago in Washington DC, brigadier general Anthony Phillips-spencer is the new head at SSA

A new head has been appointed by the National Security Council at the Strategic Services Agency under the leadership of Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley. According to a press release from the Office of the Prime Minister on March 3rd, Former Ambassador Brigadier General Anthony Phillips-Spencer has taken over from General Roger Best, currently on administrative leave. Phillips-Spencer, who returned from Washington DC at the Prime Minister’s directive on March 2, 2024, is spearheading a thorough review and audit of all personnel, equipment, and processes within the Agency. The SSA plays a crucial role in combating criminal activity in Trinidad and Tobago through intelligence gathering and analysis.
