New Roundabout Increases Costs to Motorists: IDA Secretary Stacy Herbert Criticizes THA’s Traffic Plan at Shirvan Junction

Scarborough, Tobago – August 14, 2024 – The new roundabout situated along the Claude Noel Highway at Shirvan Junction, along with the new roads, are making commutes in the west longer and more costly in terms of increased gas consumption. These were the sentiments shared by Innovative Democratic Alliance (IDA) Secretary Stacy Herbert.

Herbert accused the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) of failing to consult with residents in the area before devising the new traffic plan. Her comments highlight a significant public concern regarding the new traffic infrastructure and its practical impact on motorists in Tobago.
