Needed more money to pay contractors

T.H.A. needed more money to pay outstanding bills to contractors according to the Chief Management Accountant in the Finance Division.

Although the mid-year review focused on the THA’s $153 million request for oil spill relief, they requested $300 million to facilitate outstanding payments to contractors and overdraft facilities. Out of the total request, the THA only received $50 million. Chief Management Accountant from the Division of Finance, Trade, and Economy, Petal-Ann Roberts, says it has been difficult when contractors call every day for their payments.
