The political leader of the PDP Mr. Watson Duke referred to the MV Emprendedora as an inadequate replacement. Duke expressed his dissatisfaction via his social media. He emphasized the significance of all businessmen and truck drivers to Tobago’s economy and stated that the interim vessel is far from satisfactory for the people of Tobago. Compared to the Emprendedora, he noted that, even with the Galleon Passage’s help, the truck capacity would still fall short of the Cabo Star’s capacity, while drivers can not stay with their cargo.
Duke urges the Chamber of Commerce to represent not only their members but all Tobagonians and involve them in the discussion. He compared the MV Emprendedora to previous vessels, noting that passengers had sleeping accommodations and could depart with their trucks upon arrival at their destination.
He requests that the cargo vessel should provide a certain level of passenger comfort.
