Scarborough, Tobago – April 17, 2024 – Councillor Tashia Burris, Secretary for the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation, today addressed the longstanding issue of outstanding Tobago Heritage Festival 2023 payments at the Post Executive Media Briefing.
There has been significant controversy surrounding the outstanding Heritage Festival payments to suppliers for last year’s festival. Councillor Burris explained that some discrepancies were identified in the process of making those payments, which led to delays. She confirmed that most of the Heritage monies due to suppliers and service providers for the Tobago Heritage Festival 2023 have now been paid, indicating progress in resolving the financial issues.
