Ministry of Trade Announces Production Expenditure Rebate for Filmmakers, Offering Cash Back for Local and International Productions.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry is inviting filmmakers, both local and international, to take advantage of the Production Expenditure Rebate programme for 2025-2027. According to an update on social media, the rebate offers cash back on qualifying production expenses, with varying percentages based on the budget. For international productions, it ranges from 12.5% to 35%, with an additional 20% for hiring local labour. Local producers can receive a flat 35% rebate on budgets from US$15,000 to US$8 million, plus 20% for employing local workers. The programme aims to support the film industry by encouraging both local and international productions in Trinidad and Tobago.
